Can we use the Magnus Health App with Vervet?
Yes! On the Admin Page where it says SOCIAL APPS you can link Magnus to Vervet and chaperones can access it from the app to cross-reference your medical information. We have found that there are often discrepancies between the two because parents fill out Magnus in the beginning of the year and don’t always update it. We recommend looking at both and communicating any discrepancies with the school nurse.
What if we lose cell or Wi-Fi service on a trip? How do we access Vervet?
No worries, Vervet has a download feature. Once service is lost, you can go to the downloaded version and Vervet automatically updates once cell service returns.
What about Cyber security? Is our student information secure on the software platform and app?
Yes, we have many measures in place to ensure cyber security, we are happy to share our entire policy with you upon request. Vervet uses an Amazon Workspace database and we can share our measures regarding data transmission, storage and software and server security, virus scanning, suspicious activity monitoring and our staff security policy.
What about Permission to Travel forms? Don't these need to be hardcopies?
You can place this document under STUDENT DOCS. We do recommend having a hardcopy of this as well as some airports still ask for it, but with Vervet you will also have it on file for easy and quick access.
What about Notarized forms? How does that work?
You can handle these under STUDENT DOC and under OTHER RELEVANT DOCS. Parents print the form they download from STUDENT DOCS, fill it out, notarize it, take a photo and in JPEG form upload into OTHER RELEVANT DOCS on the parent page.
What about E-signatures are they legally and safe to use?
E-signature, as a legally valid method for signing documents, has widespread legal adoption around the world dating back to the early 2000s.
How can I use Vervet to help me with student food allergies?
You can create a digital card to show the cooks on your trip under Trip Docs where you translate all of the food allergies for each student for the countries you plan to visit. This translated card helps to ensure whoever is handling the food knows about each child without the confusion of translation.
Can parents access student medical information?
A parent has access to only their children's information. Only the trip chaperone and admin have access to trip student details.
